Who knew we were in the company of such greatness?

[I'd always wondered what your dissertation was about, Stephen.]

This is what I did my dissertation research on. It's not precisely a new form of matter, but it's close enough to make no nevermind. Anyway, it's quite the breakthrough, though several groups have been on the edge for a while. My old group saw indirect evidence of superfluidity about a year ago, but Ketterle's group is the first to see it directly.

Dog snot is sort of a supergrossy, I think.

I went home at lunch to check on ole Snobbers and let her out since Jon left some ice cubes in her crate. Well, she was feeling so good that she jumped up on me and then sneezed all over me. It was wonderful. It was like taking a snot shower :D

Well, dog snot is a tricky substance to classify. I think it might fit under the superfluid category, but there are probably several other categories it would fit under as well. And I'm not sure I want to know what those are :) Our local physics expert might have some insight as to whether or not it's a superfluid. What does he say?
