Four hours
Here it is, coming up on 8:30am, and I have already been awake for four hours. That’s harsh. I considered getting up and coming into work when I woke up at 4:30 this morning (and by that I mean WOKE UP — there was no going back to sleep… I tried for an hour), but the need to put my car in the shop overpowered the need to go in, and thusly come home, early. So what did I do? Waste time on the computer upstairs reading webcomics until 6:30 at which point I was hungry enough to deal with the pups.
The funny thing is, I have been up long enough now that I am wide awake, so I will probably be insanely productive this morning. However, I will probably crash by midafternoon…

Yeah, I knew it was bad when I rolled over at 5 a.m. and noticed you staring up at the ceiling.
I’m just going to keep an iron skillet on my side of the bed. And when you wake up in the middle of the night like that, I’ll just whack you with it

I, too, was up around 0415. I was able, however, to go back to sleep after a while.
Please don’t hate me for that.

Are you taking any kind of medicine before bedtime, specifically sinus or allergy medicine? I have learned not to take Allegra D at bedtime because by 2:30 a.m. my eyes will pop open and that’s it. After having made this mistake several nights in a row, I finally figured out that it had to be the medicine. On nights I didn’t take it, I slept through the night.

Speaking as someone who lived with a sleep disorder for a long time without knowing what it was … seriously, get thee to a doc, Jon. If your sleep cycle is impairing your daily activities, something’s wrong. I didn’t realize how badly I was sleeping until I started the Lunesta and actually slept for a solid eight hours.
I woke up kinda perky.
Me, perky.
You afraid too? Can’t say that I blame you.

Well, I have an appointment for a physical in September — I was planning on bringing it up to my doctor then.
