28 Week Update

Yep, that’s right folks. I am now 28 weeks pregnant and officially entering my third trimester. Where has all the time gone? Looking back, it seems like yesterday we found out we were pregnant. I am so glad the pregnancy has been as easy as it has been. With the exception of some back pain, I can’t really complain. I think I worried myself into the TMJ, but thankfully that has not been bothering me lately. I won’t say it’s completely gone, but it is not nearly as painful as it was before.

So, here are the stats for the day:

I gained 4 lbs this past month (total pregnancy gain 7 lbs)
Blood pressure is good
Heartrate was 142 (she was sleeping at the time)
Measuring just right for due date

That’s about it. I’ve ordered a new back brace to help with the pain. Unfortunately the physical therapy is getting harder to do simply because there is nothing they can do for me at this point. I only have 5 more visits anyway before they can no longer justify it. They would love for me to come in every week until the baby is born, but that just isn’t possible. However, the new brace fits pretty well and seems to support me in the places I need it most. I definitely think it will help. It’s certainly not pretty, but what’s fashion compared to less pain? ;)

Well, that’s all I have for now. Little Emily moves around quite a bit and is develoing an aversion to my aerobics class. Lately she likes to stick something pretty hard in my right side so that I have a hard time keeping up with the routine. She eventually moves, either after class is over or after I push her back into place :) It sure seems like she is going to have a lot of personality. I can’t wait to meet her.

Yes! You are on your final approach to parenthood. Return your seat to the upright position, put up the trays, and fasten your seat belt. It may be a bumpy landing but well worith it.
Hang in there. Just a few more months of “arms too short to reach beyond the belly” syndrome left to get through.

“Arms too short to reach beyond the belly” syndrome, that is too funny. True, but funny :P

Another couple of fun ones are “belly bumpitis” and “can’t see over the belly” syndrome. I tend to run into lots of things belly-first these days. Just last night I was cooking and I found that everytime I tried to peek into the pan I was using, I turned the knobs on the front of the stove with my belly. What made it worse was that I couldn’t even see into the pan because it was so deep and I couldn’t get closer to it because of my belly. ;)

I love those unforseen complications due to my bulging belly :D

28 weeks. Does not seem possible. [But then I was talking to Stephen and Misty on Monday night about their impending kid and was all, "Holy crap! That kid'll be here really quickly!"]

    Wheeeee!
