Treo 1, Washing Machine 0

Well, after have a cell phone for 8 years, the unthinkable finally happened: I left my Treo in my pants pocket when I threw my pants into the rapidly filling washer last night. Luckily, I figured what what happened based on the weight of the pants as I put them in the wash, so I immediately pulled them back out and retrieved my Treo. Alas, it appeared to be too late because the Treo looked to be dead. I was thankful that I had synced the Treo before I left work. However, after pulling the battery out and carefully using Ashley's hair dryer to dry up as much water as possible, I left the Treo out to dry overnight while I researched what new smartphone I would be purchasing to replace my expensive screwup. This morning I figured I would try to see if I could get it to boot before I moved the SIM card to Ashley's old phone. Amazingly it still works! I have been messing around with it all morning and have not noticed any glitches. I will keep an eye on it for a while to make sure that everything seems to be OK, but it looks like I dodged the bullet this time.
