Turning One

Well, as most of you know, yesterday was Emily’s birthday. I cannot believe that she has been with us for a year already. My how she has grown. We went from lump of baby, to sitting up, to babbling, to crawling, and now walking. She is quite tall these days and hangs with most of the older kids in her daycare class. In honor of her birthday, I took some frosted cookies to her class yesterday afternoon (and no, they weren’t home-made). I took pictures of her and her classmates as they devoured the sugary goodness. I am not sure what Emily actually though. The teachers also had the birthday song on repeat on the CD player, so much dancing and eating was to be had. Here are a few snapshots from the “party”.

Hope you enjoy them!

Happy Birthday to Emily! It looks like she (and the others) enjoyed her cookie very much!

  2. I … apologize for calling your daughter by your name last night, Ashley. :chuckle:

Wonderful pics, but how could they not be with such an adorable little model? The Little Princess looks so intent on investigating that cookie! She is so cute and growing up way too fast. Hugs and Kisses from CeCe and Pop! We can’t wait to see her in two weeks.

Happy Birthday, Emily! She’s growing up way to fast. It’s hard to believe she’s already one!
Give her a great big hug and kiss from me!

Who is that BIG girl and what have you done with my baby neice?! Too cute and she’s getting some hair! I still vote for the Birthday Oatmeal Pie, I bet she’d like that better ;) I share with her what she is missing in 2 weeks.

So, I was looking at those pictures again this morning and I found myself covetting Emily’s Birthday cookie and thinking how sad it was that she didn’t eat all of it! Aren’t those the really soft ones from the Wal-Mart Bakery? I may have to go find those today!

  8. Ashley says:

Well, yes and no. Those are really soft sugar cookies that you can find at Wal-Mart or Kroger. I forget the name of the company that makes them, but you can usually find them near the bakery at Wal-Mart. In our store here, if you walk in on the bakery side, they usually have a display of them greeting you as you come in the door.

As for Emily’s cookie, she did eat some more of it. Then one of her little friends sitting beside her helped himself to some of it too. It was too funny! Of course, a lot of it ended up on the floor. We’ll be celebrating her bithday with my parents this weekend. She wil have her very own “smash” cake. I can’t wait to see how that goes.

  9. erin norman says:

Yes, I thought they looked like the ones that are by the front door just to tempt you on the way inside. I really will have to go get some, in honor of Emily’s 1st birthday, of course ;) Hopefully she will like cake, Jake wasn’t too interested at all, it was kind of a let down.

  10. Stephen says:

    Yay! Happy birthday to Emily!
