Here is a picture from Saturday (a couple of weeks ago).
It was Emily’s first time swimming. We went to a friend’s house who had a pool in their neighborhood. They were nice enough to let us and some other friends swim. It was an interesting experience. Emily got to “swim” with her two best friend, Liza and Phoebe.
Emily really wasn’t sure about it at first. She pretty much held onto me the entire time. I even tried to put her in a float, but she would have nothing to do with it. Emily wouldn’t even stand on the stairs. She just freaked and started crying if I tried to move her. Eventually she let me pull her through the water. I also managed to finally get her into a float that Phoebe so graciously loaned her for a while. At first she wasn’t sure about that either. Once she figured out she wasn’t going to sink, she was fine.
I’m hoping we’ll get to go swimming a few more times before the weather turns cooler. She enjoys bathtime a lot, so I’m thinking she’ll take to the swimming pool once she gets use to it.

Jake was like that in the beginning too, I think they just don’t quite get it. I think the next time you take her, she’ll totally relax and get the hang of it and be splashing around before you know it!
